What to Pack in Your Wedding Day Emergency Kit

Your wedding day emergency kit isn’t about expecting things to go wrong, it’s about being prepared so small things don’t become big distractions.

Most couples don’t realize how often these little items save the day.

Wedding days are long. Emotions are high. Outfits are delicate. Even the best-planned days benefit from a little extra preparedness.

An emergency kit ensures comfort, confidence, and peace of mind throughout the day.

A Personal Wedding Story & Why I Never Skip the Emergency Kit

One wedding that will always stand out to me is my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding.

It was one of those days that felt incredibly special, not just because it was beautiful, but because it was personal. Family weddings have a way of feeling even more emotional, and I wanted everything about their day to feel as calm and joyful as possible.

During the celebration, they had chosen to serve different wines they had purchased from Italy, it was something meaningful and intentional that reflected them. At some point during the night, that red wine made its way onto my sister-in-law Claire’s dress.

I remember Claire, the MOH Amanda, and I got into the golf carts driven by the ranch hands and drove back to the bridal suite that had the emergency kit. Between stain remover wipes, stain remover pens, and a lot of patience, we were able to carefully lift the stains and get Claire back into her dress with no damage & no stress.

This also gave her a moment to take a small break and rest her feet and touch up hair or makeup if needed. Most importantly, this allowed her to change into her cowboy boots!

That moment is exactly why I believe so strongly in being prepared. Because weddings are full of movement, hugs, toasts, and celebration and when something unexpected happens, having the right tools allows the day to keep unfolding beautifully.

Essentials for You & Your Wedding Party

Some must-haves include:

  • Fashion tape and safety pins

  • Stain remover pens & Wipes ( I like Shout Wipes, Miss Mouth’s Messy Eater Stain Spray and Wipes, as well as the trusty Tide To Go pens )

  • Extra bobby pins and hair ties ( in all hair colors )

  • Blotting papers & powder

  • Bandaids and Aquaphor/Neosporin

These are the items people don’t think about until they’re needed.

Comfort & Care Items

  • Snacks, hydration, and Energy ( Liquid I.V. packs as well as Celsius Powder Sticks )

  • Pain reliever ( get different types for everyone - some kinds can’t be mixed with medications )

  • Spray Deodorant and Travel Size Perfume

  • Small Packs of Tissues

Who Should Handle This?

While couples can pack their own kit, as a coordinator I will always have my own with me.

Not all coordinators may offer one or bring one with them so make sure you check with yours.

Make sure that:

  • Items are accessible when needed

  • You’re not searching or stressing

  • Pack extras for pockets if you are not around your emergency kit
